5-6 Mastering Language Arts 1 - Tu/Th $300 - Learning with Literature - Aubrey Metz

This course covers Language Arts for fifth-grade level students, employing grade level standards in a dynamic, project-based method. The main source of information for this course will be found on our learning management system, where students and parents may find details on assignments, instructions, descriptions and due dates. All grades will be based on a rubric, available on Schoology, as well as the finalized grades, accessible in the “gradebook”. The main curriculum for this class will be dispersed in packet form at the beginning of the school year, along with the novels and reading excerpts the class will be reading. Students should be prepared to keep their packets in a three-ring binder and come to class with several pencils, erasers, a sharpener, lined paper, and a bookmark.

Books will be provided by instructor, in the Fall students will read The Mysterious Benedict Society and in the Spring Tuck Everlasting and Island of the Blue Dolphins
